An introduction to The Empire Cleethorpes
The Old Empire Theatre in Cleethorpes was purchased in 1996 by John and Rosie Armitage.
Since then, and driven by their passion to realize the potential of this beautiful old and historic building on the sea front, they have invested heavily in a transformation project and have continually developed the original theatre into a fully operational Family Entertainment Centre.
Over the years, the Empire has become synonymous with the place to go on in Cleethorpes and is well known to the many thousands of visitors that attend the venue on a regular and annual basis.
The Empire now boasts one of the largest amusement facilities in Lincolnshire and has gained an enviable reputation for offering the best prizes available for winners of redemption tickets for its many prizes available for both locals and tourists alike.
The latest addition is the Empire Fish and Chips bar and this boasts freshly caught and locally landed fish, along with a wide range of other mouth-watering options on its extensive menu and is a firm favorite for visiting families keen to try the local Grimsby Fish, renowned as being the best in the country.
Over the last 25 years the Empire has continually evolved and has seen continuous growth under John and Rosie’s direction, yet it still retains many of its original features and is currently undergoing work to restore it to its former glory.
Their love and passion for this beautiful old building means the empire is in safe hands and has become one of Cleethorpes’ top tourist attractions.
